Profile

Kay Currie is currently Head of Division for Post Registration Nursing & Health, and acute care lead in the Scottish Centre for evidence based care of older people, a collaborating centre of the Joanna Briggs Institute.

Kay’s first degree in Nursing Studies was undertaken at Edinburgh University, following which she completed a post registration certificate in Critical Care Nursing, a Master of Nursing at Glasgow University, post graduate teaching qualification at Strathclyde University and PhD at Glasgow Caledonian University.

Leaving a coronary care ward sister role for a lecturer post in higher education in 1992, her current research interests are focused in the area of acute care nursing and clinical role development
