Profile

Irene Schofield is a Research Fellow in the Working with Adults and Older People research grouping. She has worked clinically with older people in acute care, assessment, rehabilitation, primary care and care home settings. Working in nurse education, she has developed and taught courses and modules in nursing older people for pre and post registration students. She has written a number of book chapters and articles in clinical and academic journals of nursing.

Irene has worked on projects related to the caring attributes of nurses who work with older people, service use and choices of people with COPD, and The Gerontological Nursing Demonstration. Her PhD research is a critical discourse analysis on nurses’ understanding and care of older people with delirium.
