Flora Cornish is a Lecturer and part of the Improving Health and Wellbeing research grouping. Educated at Trinity College Dublin (BA Psychology) and the London School of Economics & Political Science (MSc Social Research Methods; PhD Psychology), she is a social psychologist with a research focus on community health.
Flora’s research interests are in community development approaches to improving public health. She has a longstanding research engagement in the area of sex-worker-led HIV prevention in India, with current research aiming to understand the social conditions which facilitate effective community-led health promotion. In the UK context, she is involved in new research on Health Visitors’ contributions to reducing health inequalities, with a study underway on the interactions between Health Visitors and their clients in disadvantaged areas of Glasgow.
